Subject: Re: [Realtime-feeds] Change in CVS Column Headers?
Hello Stewart,
We will update the api page. See below for description of columns. We recommend the GeoJSON format for programatic access instead of CSV, and its documentation should be up to date on the api page.
DateTime,
Latitude,
Longitude,
Depth,
Magnitude, magnitude value
MagType, magnitude type
NbStations, number of stations used for location
Gap, azimuthal gap in degrees
Distance, distance to nearest station in kilometers
RMS, rms time error
Source, authoritative network
EventID, authoritative event id
Version, millisecond timestamp of last update to event
Thanks,
Jeremy

Hi,
At:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/api/
It is written:
Output Format
CSV
...
Src,EqId,Version,Datetime,Lat,Lon,Magnitude,Depth,NST,Region
This matches the column headers in the 'old' real-time data feed at:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/catalogs/eqs7day-M1.txt
This morning, at the 'new' CVS >1.0 Weekly URL:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/csv/1.0/week
The column headings are radically different:
DateTime,Latitude,Longitude,Depth,Magnitude,MagType,NbStations,Gap,Distance,RMS,Source,EventID,Version
Is there documentation for this new CVS format?
Thanks,
Stewart Dickson, Wolfram|Alpha
