HI John,

Please contact Greg Steiner to investigate DC/DC converter for various VSAT modems (&/or routers if required on the front-end say for VPN configuration).

Mark, we have been supplying dc to dc converters to Alaska for hughes equipment some are dual voltage others are single. Efficiency is typically around 85 %. Much better than converting to AC and then back to DC. Cost is $250 to $275 depending on which system. We also have a supply for the Newtec VSAT.

Hello

At PRSN I was using for a long time a dc to dc converter from Hughes. It has a good reliability and it is sealed, good for the field. It is configured for the HN7000. I am attaching a picture of this unit. Let me know if you can open the jpg file.

I hope this helps.
Regards
Juan Lugo

Hello Geohazards Community,

Is anyone out there operating a VSAT on a DC system? Preferably one that is efficient enough to be powered on a solar/battery system, and can support continuous real-time telemetry.

Any info would be awesome. Thanks.

Have a great weekend,
John
