[ANSS-netops] experience with K-2's having internal IP interface cards

Hello all,
Good info about terminal servers. I like the idea of a ts running
directly on 12V like the Digi unit. Like Will Kohler said, we've had
decent success with MSS100's, but they do occasionally hang. It
appears so far that it only happens at sites where we use telco
telemetry. I don't seem to recall a site visit (knock on wood) to
reset an MSS100 at the couple field sites where we have one attached
to an Ethernet Freewave radio. One other note is that we almost
exclusively do not use the power supply that were supplied with the
MSS100. We have been using Astrodyne 12-5V DC-DC converters which
have been very reliable, both in the urban strong motion sites and
the remote sites. Can't remember one dying all by itself. We are
also very pleased with the FGR-Plus Freewave radios with terminal
servers built in. Although we had one fail, they have otherwise been
pretty stable and it sure is nice not having another device (external
ts) attached and being able to log into the radios remotely.
