Hi Bruce,

thanks for helping, the problem is solved.
I did had have 0 byte sized files and copied the good versions to the
right files:

ll /usr/local/shake/shake_home/lib/ps/
72497 0 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 0B Mar 12 17:06 scale.ps
72464 0 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 0B Mar 7 18:58 scale.ps.BAK
72427 42 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 42K Jan 27 2006 scale.ps.new
72425 42 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 42K Mar 7 18:45 scale_1.ps
72426 30 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 29K Mar 7 18:45 scale_2.ps
72498 0 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 0B Mar 12 17:07 tvscale.ps
72465 0 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 0B Mar 7 18:58 tvscale.ps.BAK
72428 14 -rwxrwxr-x 1 shake shakemap 13K Mar 7 18:45 tvscale_1.ps

I don't know why this happened, but now the legend is displayed correctly.

best regards
