Bruce has been helping me try to get Shakemap 3.1 working on a Solaris
10 installation, without the Solaris compilers (we're using gcc). Is
there anyone out there who has installed Shakemap 3.1 on a Solaris 10
system, using the gcc compilers?

I had trouble with GMT 4.1.1, and after Bruce sent this out yesterday, I
had tried again with GMT 3.4.6 and had the same failures (off by one
problems with GMT reading the netcdf files that grind and mapping
produced). I am beginning to think that there is a problem with byte
alignment or variable sizes in the gcc compiler compared with the
Solaris compilers. Certainly there is a disconnect between GMT and
Shakemap for our installation, and the gcc compilers are the only thing
that is different that I can think of off-hand. I've tried on two
different Solaris 10 installations (one a netra T1, and one a 280R).

Thanks,

Bill
