This may have already been discussed/ruled out, but if I were a user from
somewhere besides California, I might be a little unsure of why that box
is highlighted. Maybe we could do a tooltip that says something to the
effect of "Zoom to California region" when the user mouses over the box?
We use nicetitle tooltips for the 10 degree and 2 degree maps, so maybe
that would work here too?
Other than that, I think the border looks good.

[EHPweb] Ideas for linking to California/Nevada from homepage

Hello,
We've received some feedback on how to improve access to California/
Nevada pages for users from California/Nevada. The idea of adding a
border around the region on the U.S. map is still the simplest
solution we've heard for the short term (besides doing nothing). One
issue with the initial example was the border being too fuzzy. I
cleaned up the border, so it is similar to other regions, and have an
example with image map in place on ehpdevel.
Please take a look at the development pages and send any feedback to
this list or directly to lisa at usgs.gov this week.

Any feedback is appreciated,
Thanks,
