No objection here. The SF and LA special maps cover the same real estate as
the 2deg maps (but without the blue navigation arrows on the perimeters).

The Long Valley and Hawaii maps are at different scales than the 2deg maps,
so there it makes sense to preserve the special maps.

We were considering adding links to the San Francisco and Los Angeles  
"special" maps.  If you notice, the San Francisco special map is  
missing the updated water layer.

Does anyone object to linking directly to the corresponding 2 degree  
maps instead of the "special" maps?  The main difference is the page  
title, but the map should make it obvious where you are looking in  
California.  We wouldn't necessarily have to extend this decision to  
Long Valley, Yellowstone, or Hawaii, but could...
