Speaking of recentEQS, the only errors I've been seeing lately are
ehpbackup trying to access the outside servers:
Slow response (> 5 seconds) for 21 times from:
http://ehp3-earthquake.gps.caltech.edu/eqcenter/recenteqsww/
(131.215.66.24)
Slow response (> 5 seconds) for 6 times from:
http://ncweb-menlo.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/ (130.118.61.30)
Slow response (> 5 seconds) for 38 times from:
http://quake.geo.berkeley.edu/recenteqs/ (169.229.197.11)
1. I'm not familiar w/ the berkeley address, but I'll do some checking to
see why there is delay here
2 I thought ncweb-menlo was going to be removed?
3. I don't think it would matter much, but perhaps we should change the
ehp3 address to read http://ehp3-earthquake.wr.usgs.gov/...
4. I believe it is the mysqld process that may be causing the delay of
getting to these servers.
5. We are going to be transitioning from zabbix to nagios in the near
future so this should fix the the mysqld issues. In the meantime,
I'm going to stop the zabbixd daemon and see if the latency issue
is resolved.

[EHPweb] RecentEQs troubleshooting info on EHP Wiki

All-
I have moved Bob Simpson's RecentEQs troubleshooting documentation to the
EHP Wiki (from the /eqcenter/recenteqsww dir) and added additional
documentation from Jeremy.
The path to this info is as follows:
1. Start on the main EHP Wiki page at
https://ehptools.cr.usgs.gov/trac/wiki/documentation.
2. Click on Recent EQs & EqintheNews under the Web Apps Doc &
Troubleshooting section.
3. Under the Recent Earthquakes section, there are a few links including
documentation, a link to the RecentEQs Monitoring page, a description of
each of the columns on the monitoring page, and troubleshooting for
problems that show up on this page.
I will delete the document I copied this from that lives in
/eqcenter/recenteqsww now.
Please add troubleshooting information for RecentEQs to this area in the
future.
Thanks
- Lisa
