Well, if ports has a stable version of 3.0.3, that would be ideal. 
Otherwise it can be compiled from source.

Hi Chris,

Good idea!  Stan Schwarz would know whether there's a v3 rsync for 
FreeBSD.  If there is, I'd vote to upgrade rsync on horst/graben/mesa.   I 
still think rsync's could be a critical point of failure in a crisis.
