[Shake-dev] Question about DYFI

Hi Jose,
When we use DYFI as input to ShakeMap, we use the computed intensity for a region (which might be a zip code region, or a geocoded region), not the individual survey responses. This approach is consistent with the way we include MMI from traditional sources (such as field studies or postal surveys).
I’ve attached an example file of DYFI data so you can see how we incorporate the observations into ShakeMap. Note that the “netid” attribute of each station tag must be one of “DYFI”, “MMI”, “INTENSITY”, or “CIIM”.
You may also want to have a look at the program “obs2xml” which converts a file of observations into the ShakeMap XML format. You may be able to modify obs2xml to meet your needs (or modify your output to match the input needed by obs2xml).
Best,
Bruce

If it is from the survey, how could I include my own survey into the system?

Could be a city name??
