Hi Branden,

The fault file (whatever you name it) is simply formatted as a multi-segment file for GMT's psxy program. For example:

>
 -115.549599 32.931198
 -115.541901 32.914200
 -115.535797 32.902901
 -115.527603 32.889000
 -115.516197 32.870098
 -115.503403 32.853500
 -115.487999 32.837200
 -115.475601 32.821400
>
 -115.921799 32.991600
 -115.909599 32.984901
 -115.893600 32.974499
…

So each segment is a series of lon/lat pairs, and the segments are separated by the ">" character.

Please note that this is NOT the format for finite faults that you put in the input directory for specific events. See the Software Guide for that format.

I don't know what became of global_faults.txt -- if it ever existed. I don't see it lying around anywhere.

Bruce
