Hi Ophélie,
I'm glad it is working for you. Sorry about the problems with Ubuntu -- for some reason it often does not want to link shared libraries in GMT and NetCDF with ShakeMap modules compiled with gcc. That can be fixed with static linking, but other problems often surface.
For future reference, the ShakeMap installation on the virtual machine is set up using SVN, just as the software guide describes. So when we announce updates on this mailing list, you should be able to get them using "svn update" on the VM.
I recommend the VM to anyone who is having trouble getting ShakeMap to work properly.
