[Shake-dev] getting rid of ugly grid lines?

Hi Renate,
I've never seen anything like that before. Not only are the lines huge and uncalled for, they don't even line up with the primary or secondary frame or annotation intervals. The vertical ones don't seem to correspond to anything at all.
I don't think the problem stems from your GRID_CROSS_* defaults. On my system they are 0c, and I don't get anything like that.
Can you run mapping with -verbose and send the output to me.
I'll look at it, but in the meantime, you might consider posting the map on the GMT help board and see if anyone there knows what might be causing it. They're usually pretty responsive.
