[Geomag-operations] Fwd: [EXTERNAL] Geomagnetic Storm Predicted this Weekend

Steve,
I just want to make sure you see Carol's message below. I will monitor the
activity. If I see it is VERY disturbed (>K4), we will postpone installing
the parts I sent.
A magnetic storm is not very obvious at low latitudes, and may not hinder
your absolute observations. But, there may be some phenomenon associated
with a magnetic storm that isn't obvious to me, so we will error on the
side of caution, and not take the system down for repairs if the field is
disturbed.

All,
Just a heads-up that they are predicting a geomagnetic storm this weekend,
which is when many of you often take absolutes. Be advised that you may
need to adjust your schedule accordingly. Your best bet might be Saturday
morning before the storm hits. Do NOT attempt to swap out equipment during
a storm.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of the Geomag staff.
Thanks.
Carol
