Hi Doctor Evans,
USGS data is available from intermagnet at http://www.intermagnet.org/
That data is regularly updated with a short lag of around 10-20 minutes and
provides the same files that were previously available on magweb.
For near realtime data we now have a public Edge server that provides an
earthworm waveserver like interface at cwbpub.cr.usgs.gov. To connect to
that service, we provide open source python code at
https://github.com/usgs/geomag-algorithms
In order to duplicate one of the IAGA2002 files from magweb you would run
geomag-algorithms with the following command.
geomag.py --inchannels H E Z F \
--observatory BOU \
--starttime 2015-10-01T00:00:00Z \
--endtime 2015-10-01T23:59:00Z \
--input-edge cwbpub.cr.usgs.gov \
--output-iaga-file bou20151001vmin.min
Thanks
Hal Simpson
