Subject: HEAVY load impacting performance

This morning, Monday March 7, 2011, the NatWeb web servers are experiencing an unusually heavy traffic load.  It appears there is volcanic activity in Hawaii that is driving significant interest is such data.  We are taking steps to try to mitigate this extraordinary load.

In the meantime, please bear with us.  We are aware of the performance issues.
