Your earthquake-last day, last week color schemes are the same color.
I dislike the new colorized USA.. I cannot see the earthquakes
clearly. Thank-You, Robert RE: Earthquakes-USA

Got to tell you I don't like the color of the new US map on the web
site. It just doesn't look right and doesn't feel like it gives the
same information it used to although it probably does. Why mess with a
web site that was good and bring it down a level? That coupled with an
unnecessarily difficult verification code is plain stupid.

Regarding your changes to the "Latest Earthquakes" map page: Changing
the blue symbols to orange on the USA maps REALLY sucks. They are a
huge step backward in the quality of the maps. Please change them back
to blue, and counsel the intern who dreamed up this little
"improvement."

Map is harder to see and not as much detail in close, sorry.

Did you change the look of your US map lately? I can hardly make out
the incidents on the US map now. I live in CA and regularly check your
site. CA and the world maps look the same but the deeper colors of the
US map offer little contrast from the incident boxes and make viewing
difficult. Is this permanent?

Why did you "simplify" the maps? There are fewer fault lines (Duh!)
and very few roads shoown. I could darn near show my students my
sisters house in San Diego Co. Now I cant home in. Please tell me: Why
on Earth you dumbed down the maps???....Patrick

I don't like the colored map background. It makes discerning quake
activity more difficult.

The new basemaps for North America obscure the data; I much prefer the
previous basemaps.

Hi, I love the new maps on the earthquake page. However, the colors of
red and orange are so similar, it's almost impossible to tell which is
which, and they all seem so much smaller. Is there any way to adjust
the size so it is larger and the colors are more distinguishable?
Thanks, Kelly

I noticed the map for the US has recently changed appearence. I
personally find it grainy and hard to look at compared to the way it
had been. Is there a particular reason it has been changed> Thanks Jana

regarding the portion of your web site below. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/Maps/special/California_Nevada.php
You recently changed the colors on this map, maybe 1 or 2 weeks ago.
The orange & red on the somewhat orange background are very hard to
see/differentiate. The prior color scheme was much easier, as least
for me. I would prefer if you changed back. Thanks, edg

FYI - I don't care for your new map of the U.S. Everyone knows where
the fault lines are - the red line interferes with reading the map for
"within the hour" earthquakes. Plus, why the green terrain look?
