The 2017 Earthquake Insight Field Trip will be held on Friday afternoon, March 31, through Sunday afternoon, April 2.
The route starts near St. Louis, Mo., and ends near Cairo, Ill. The route will include about 15 stops, including near New Madrid, Mo., and Reelfoot Lake, Tenn. The group will see geologic features and physical evidence of the seismic history of the area. Other stops include engineered structures, systems, and infrastructure that are at risk from future earthquakes.
Participants are welcome to join for all or part of the field trip. Other than individual travel costs, there is no cost for the field trip.
Please contact Phyllis Steckel (psteckel at charter.net) for FAQs that should answer most questions about this event. Space is available, but limited.
Cheers,
Phyllis
