<div>We are using a Motorola Radio PTP-600 4.9 GHZ series for a 23 km radio shot to a repeater site and another 16 km shot to our LAN.</div>
<div>Site Name ---WR PAM Makalu with SS-1 Ranger Sensors, Digi Portserver TS-1 and Motorola PIDU.</div>
<div>We had experienced numerous data drop outs lasting a few minutes to a few hours.</div>
<div>We also had trouble pinging the PIDU installed at the Civil Maintenance Building. </div>
<div>Our LAN guys sent this after the problem was fixed.</div>
<div><font color="#1F497D">“The final resolution was one small change to the switch port that the Motorola Radio/Powerline adapter plugs into. I decreased the speed to 100Mbps down from 1Gbps. I suspect that PSCO (Public Safety Communications Office) did not
use CAT5E or better cable from the Powerline adapter to the radio on the tower or the distance may be to long for 1Gbps speeds. I have been monitoring the port and the radio and it has been clean since the change.”</font></div>
<div><font face="Calibri"> </font></div>
<div>PSCO did use CAT5e on the cable run and the cable run is about 50 feet. The change to the speed worked and the site has not lost any data since. </div>
