Hi Kyle,

Greg Steiner has built about 25 flexible power supply boxes for me that
provide 12 VDC with AC charger, external 12V battery connection, max of 2
120W solar panels, essential load (DAS primarily), non-essential load
(cell modem, Freewave, VSAT or other comm), solar regulator. Solar
panels and AC charger and solar can be connected simultaneously if
opportunity exists. It is packaged in a small box as well;
not sure of size though. Greg, if he sees this email, he can
reply/elaborate better. I think a number of regional networks
are using them.

They are incredibly flexible.

Would anyone be interested in using the PASSCAL developed Power
Management Module (PMM). This solar charge controller and power
switcher box for a 12 VDC system are in wide spread use with
PASSCAL. I believe they have about 1000 of them deployed and we are
considering buying some for our various projects.

The GenaSun MPPT Charge Controller appears to be robust and the
temperature specs are great. The battery low voltage disconnect for
the batteries is a big plus. PASSCAL has packaged everything into a NEMA
4 box and it is very water resistant.

The boxes are assembled right here in Albuquerque by Betatron for
PASSCAL. They run in the $600-700 range depending on order
size.

See the attached.

For a sure response send E-Mail to gsnmaint@usgs.gov, or gsn-xxxx(your
