[Shake-dev] getting rid of ugly grid lines?

Renate, Bruce,

I've had a similar problem before, but the lines were not nearly
as bad. Do they show up in the Postscript files? My particular issue
was in the JPEG conversion, and cleared up when I played with
the compression rating and the Postscript background color
(for some reason changing the background from 255/255/255 to
254/254/254 solved it.) Not sure if you have the same problem
but it might help.
