Hello,

This email is to let you know about breaking changes to Catalog PDL Hubs, which are for catalog loads and updates to events older than 30 days. Existing Catalog PDL Hubs will be shut down 2021-02-23 (Tuesday), and senders need to make the changes described below to send historic events to ComCat.

Realtime hubs are not affected at this time. The existing hubs have been temporarily reconfigured to receive all products sent to the new hubs, and senders can make this change at any time before the deadline.

1) Upgrade to the latest ProductClient.jar (v2.7.9), which can be downloaded from

https://github.com/usgs/pdl/releases
https://github.com/usgs/pdl/releases/download/2.7.9/ProductClient.jar

Note: using curl, you must include the "-L" argument to follow redirects.

2) Add senders to configuration

senders = sender_catalog_east, sender_catalog_west

[sender_catalog_east]
type = gov.usgs.earthquake.aws.AwsProductSender
url = https://earthquake.usgs.gov/pdl/east/

[sender_catalog_west]
type = gov.usgs.earthquake.aws.AwsProductSender
url = https://earthquake.usgs.gov/pdl/west/

3) Use signature version 2

Add to EIDSInputWedge configuration file:

signatureVersion = v2

Or add argument to command line:

--signatureVersion=v2

Email myself ( jmfee at usgs.gov ) or Lynda Lastowka ( llastowka at usgs.gov ) if you have any questions or concerns,

Thanks,
