<div style=""><span style="font-size: 16px;"><b>Bio: </b><span style="font-size: 12pt; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); display: inline !important;">Janet Carter has been with the U.S. Geological Survey in South Dakota for more than 30 years. She has a B.S.
and M.S. in geological engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. She has authored more than 50 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports and journal articles. Her research with the USGS includes subjects of groundwater availability, groundwater
modeling, hydrogeology, and water quality. Janet has received several awards for scientific publications, including Shoemaker Awards for scientific communications and National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil Awards. In 2019, Janet became
a Bureau Approving Official in the Office of Science Quality and Integrity. Janet also serves on the Fundamental Science Practices Advisory Council’s Communication and Outreach Subcommittee.</span></span></div>
