<div>The USGS Geomagnetism Program's Adjusted Data (aka "Provisional" by INTERMAGNET) provides near real time absolutely calibrated and geographically oriented geomagnetic observations. These calibration parameters are normally updated on the first of each
month in order to satisfy geomagnetic observatory standards for accuracy and quality control. However, the Shumagin (SHU) data stream was reactivated out-of-sequence this month because it had been offline for an extended interval due to a sensor misalignment
after earthquakes earlier this year. The sensor was mechanically realigned in November, but it took several weeks for the calibration parameters to stabilize.<br>
