The USGS Geomagnetism Program's Adjusted Data (aka "Provisional" by INTERMAGNET) provides near real time absolutely calibrated and geographically oriented geomagnetic observations. These calibration parameters are updated on the first of each month in order
to satisfy geomagnetic observatory standards for accuracy and quality control. Updates are deployed at midnight UTC, and may result in noticeable baseline shifts for observatories whose sensor response characteristics may have changed substantially since the
last such update, or in rare cases, whose actual sensor has been altered or replaced since the last update. To view the results of this month's update, go to:

There are several noteworthy issues to report in this notice:

Recent sensor issues at the Newport (NEW) observatory have been fixed; Adjusted processing has been re-enabled.

Deadhorse (DED) continues to remain offline because no calibration measurements have been made for approximately 7 months due to lack of industry partner support at the site due to COVID19-related changes in operations.

Shumagin (SHU) experienced a large earthquake on October 19th. The shaking disrupted the sensor mechanically, causing uncalibrated offsets. Also, this was after an earthquake and aftershocks in July and August. The sensor's nominal mechanical alignment
has shifted far enough that it must be physically adjusted. This is expected to happen in the coming week or so, but for now
SHU Adjusted data is disabled. Once subsequent calibration measurements stabilize, SHU will be re-enabled.

Guam (GUA) has been experiencing significant magnetic "cultural noise" due to nearby construction. There have also been COVID-related travel restrictions on the island that complicated the usual calibration measurements during September. In addition, electrical
and network issues have been difficult to diagnose and fix remotely. Therefore,
GUA Adjusted data is disabled until site issues can be resolved.
