main research areas and interests have evolved and developed over the
years. Throughout the period of time between my Bachelor’s degree thesis
to my Doctoral dissertation, I had focused more on hydro-meteorology
and extreme weather (such as drought and flash flooding). While I still
do research on these topics; during and after my Postdoctoral research
in Dr. T.N. Krishnamurti’s lab and Dr. Bob Ross at Florida State
University. I expanded my horizons and took a liking to dynamical
modeling, numerical weather prediction. Since then, one of my main areas
of interest has been to improve dynamical and statistical models.
Furthermore, I have been working on the physics of clouds and
precipitation, atmospheric wave, wind forecasts, polar climate, high and
low level jet streams.</span><span> </span><br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0px 0px 0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000"><br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0px 0px 0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000">My permanent academia position is a full professorship (both researching and teaching) and Vice Dean in ITU. <br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0px 0px 0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000"><br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0px 0px 0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000"><br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0px 0px 0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000"><br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0px 0px 0.0001pt;text-align:justify"><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000">Sincerely yours</font></p></div></div><div class="gmail_extra" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13px;text-align:start;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;background-color:rgb(255,255,255)"><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div><font><font size="2" face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000"><i><div><var>------------------------------------<br>Sevinc<span> </span><div class="gmail_default" style="display:inline"></div>SIRDAS<span> </span><div class="gmail_default" style="display:inline">A. </div>(PhD)<br>Prof. </var></div><div><var>Istanbul Technical University<br>Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics<br>Department of Meteorological Engineering</var></div><div><var>Maslak 34469 Istanbul<br><i><div style="display:inline"><var>Cell:<a href="tel:%2B905063008408" value="+905063008408" style="color:rgb(17,85,204)" target="_blank">+905063008408</a></var></div></i><br></var></div><div><i><div style="display:inline"><var>email: <a href="mailto:sirdas@itu.edu.tr" style="color:rgb(17,85,204)" target="_blank">sirdas@itu.edu.tr</a></var></div></i><br></div><div><a href="http://tr.linkedin.com/pub/sevinc-sirdas/25/335/878" style="color:rgb(17,85,204)" target="_blank">http://tr.linkedin.com/pub/sevinc-sirdas/25/335/878</a><br></div></i></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font><font face="tahoma, sans-serif" color="#000000"><i>------------------------------------------------------------</i></font></font></font></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></span></span>
