All,
I'm not sure what our requirements are, or what we may need, but Wayde
deserves an answer.
Can someone help him out?

Thank you,

Ed

I've been asked by Keith Gremban, the ITS Director, to poll you all
regarding your networking needs for Table Mountain. At present we share a
dedicated T1 line that is maintained by the NOAA network operations center.
The Institute has recently been working with both CenturyLink and Verizon
to see what can be done to setup a high capacity data connection to the
mesa. This is in part to support your network needs, as well as to support
a marketing campaign intended to bring more users to the Table Mountain
facility.

I'd like to leave this open ended so any comments you may have would be
greatly appreciated, but to prime the pump so-to-speak some possible
questions would be:

   1. Does the network at Table Mountain meet your needs?
   2. What services do you need that are not available at the Table
   Mountain site?
   3. Are there any unique data needs other than email and web access?

You are welcome to discuss this here on the list, or you can contact me
directly via email at <jallen at its.bldrdoc.gov> or by telephone at x5871 or
x3593. We are looking to assemble a requirements document so our IT
department can plan appropriately.
