Taking the top spot for all Federal
Datasets on Data.gov was a USGS dataset (Worldwide M1 + Earthquakes, Past 7
Days).

Congratulations to all involved in making this happen. This is a great news
story for USGS and demonstrates to the entire Federal Government the value
of our scientific research. Additionally, The O’Reilly blog reached out to
potential application developers to identify new apps that may have been
recently developed as a result of this dataset. The ability to reach new
markets and non-traditional communities that may be tapping into and
leveraging our science is one of the benefits of this effort.
