This year the Missouri Seismic Safety Commission will co-host the event.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'> </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>This is a unique and valuable experience for <b>those in</b> <b>industries at risk</b> from earthquakes (transportation, planning, communications, logistics, utilities, government, equity and investment, insurance, and many others), <b>professional geoscientists</b>, <b>first-responders</b>, <b>interested lay people</b>, and <b>students</b>.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'> </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>The field trip begins in the St. Louis area and includes Kaskaskia, Ill.; Ste. Genevieve and New Madrid, Mo.; Reelfoot Lake, Tenn.; as well as other sites in southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and western Tennessee and Kentucky.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'> </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>The route includes geological evidence of the geologic and earthquake history of the region, as well as sites important to the human stories of the 1811-12 New Madrid earthquakes.
