South Main Retrofit Demonstration Project Public Event Announcement
A cross-disciplinary series of presentations and a panel Q & A. We want to call attention to these culturally important buildings that are also fragile and need to be properly maintained, repaired, and retrofit so they can last into the future. We want to emphasize not just seismic, but also multi-hazard resilience, best-practices conservation technology, and energy saving improvements.
These buildings are about 100 years old; Memphis has been reclaiming them from decay and re-purposing them for contemporary uses. Our goal is to prepare them to last another 100 years.
