<DIV>The St. Louis Area Earthquake Hazards Mapping Project will host its
Fall Progress Meeting on Thursday afternoon, October 12, 2006, at the St. Louis
Science Center. This half-day program will report the project's
progress-to-date as well as provide information on various related aspects of
earthquake risk in the central US.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>On Friday, October 13, 2006, there will be an all-day field trip to
visit sites and sights important to telling the story of earthquake hazards and
earthquake risk in the St. Louis area. The field trip is especially
planned for those in business operations, finance, lending, equity, public
service, insurance, utilities, communication, planning, transportation, and
related fields. It is also for elected officials and local media.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Cost is $40. per person, which
includes motor-coach transportation, lunch, and a field-trip
guidebook.</DIV>
