We've been running iDirect modems using this power supply:

The parasitic draw is low and it uses a trigger lead for power control so automation can be done with a very low capacity power controller.

Subject: [ANSS-netops] DC powered VSAT

Hello Geohazards Community,

Is anyone out there operating a VSAT on a DC system? Preferably one that is efficient enough to be powered on a solar/battery system, and can support continuous real-time telemetry.

Any info would be awesome. Thanks.

Have a great weekend,
John
