[ANSS-netops] Job Notice: Polar Projects Field Engineer

The IRIS/PASSCAL Instrument Center at New Mexico Tech is seeking applicants
to fill an open Polar Projects Field Engineer position.  The primary
responsibility for this role is to support Polar seismology both from the
lab and in the field.

Duties include:
Engineering (design, drafting, analysis, prototyping) of specialized
equipment for cold/dark environments; experiment preparation (scheduling,
fabricating, testing, & shipping equipment); user training & field support
of research in the Arctic and Antarctic.

Desired Technical Skills:
Experience with seismological fieldwork or field data-collection systems.
Experience working with time series and frequency domain data. Ability to
troubleshoot wireless communication networks and DC power systems.
Proficiency in engineering analysis, electrical or mechanical design, and
CAD modeling and drawing.

A B.S. in engineering, or equivalent experience, and willingness to travel
for fieldwork is required.
