mission of the Southern California Earthquake Monitoring Project.*

We are seeking a supervisory scientist to lead field operations for the
Southern California Seismic Network (SCSN). The SCSN monitors earthquake
activity in southern California through a network of more than 380
seismic stations, 120 GPS stations, dedicated telemetry systems, and
numerous real-time, analysis, and notification systems.
Major Duties
As a Supervisory Geophysicist/Geologist/Physical Scientist within the
Earthquake Science Center, some of the specific duties will include:
- Providing high-level scientific and technical leadership to Southern
California Seismic Network and California Integrated Seismic Network.
- Planning, organizing, and directing significant aspects of the
operation, maintenance, and improvement of a mission-critical seismic
network.
- Evaluating requirements for additional resources such as the
acquisition of instrumentation and telemetry equipment and services.
- Evaluating station and network performance to maximize quality.
- Performing supervisory duties such as planning, scheduling, and
prioritizing work to be performed by field technicians.
