[ANSS-netops] Inventory & Responses: New SIS (Station Info System)

South Carolina is using SIS, and have all of our metadata and inventory in
it. Full disclosure, I am on the SIS TIC and so have been involved in
advisory role. It works quite well I think, and the developers are very
responsive. The hardest part, as with any system like this, is the initial
population. After that, SIS allows you to do what you need to do to track
inventory and build dataless and stationxml with a minimum of pain.

I would be happy to answer any specific questions, but my overall opinion
is that at this point in time not using SIS is way more painful. I think
you will find SIS a huge improvement over Inv.

Let me know if you have questions.
Philip
