Supervisory Geophysicist/Geologist/Physical Scientist to support the
mission of the Southern California Earthquake Monitoring Project.*

Announcement #: PAC-2014-0204 & PAC-2014-0029
Duration of Appointment: Full-Time, Permanent
GS-1313/1350/1301 - 11/12 Salary Range: $64,585 to $100,632 per year

We are seeking a supervisory scientist to lead field operations for the
Southern California Seismic Network (SCSN). The SCSN monitors earthquake
activity in southern California through a network of more than 350 seismic
stations, 95 GPS stations, dedicated telemetry systems, and numerous
real-time, analysis, and notification systems.

Major Duties
As a Supervisory Geophysicist/Geologist/Physical Scientist within the
Earthquake Science Center, some of the specific duties will include:
- Providing high-level scientific and technical leadership to Southern
California Seismic Network and California Integrated Seismic Network.
- Evaluating requirements for additional resources such as the acquisition
of instrumentation and telemetry equipment and services.
- Evaluating station and network performance to maximize quality.
- Performing supervisory duties such as planning, scheduling, and
prioritizing work to be performed by field technicians.
