Yes your assumption is correct.  The serial number of all RT506 boards
represents the rest of the MAC Address in Hex

Thanks Antonio.  I'm having trouble understanding this part:
((board number - 506) << 14)

RT506 boards will always have board number - 506 = 0 so all you have to do
is convert the s/n to hex and use that for the last 3 bytes, right?

Thanks to others as well.  We need this number to get an ip address.
