[ANSS-netops] USGS Surplus equipment can be donated to other agencies

Mark,

I know what you are saying. It can be difficult to transfer items to
others. We've mostly gotten around that by doing a long-term loan
(or "gift" like Jim says) with whoever it is (like, we never expect
to see them back). I just write a little memo to that effect and
have the receiving person sign it so there is a paper trail, and then
give them the loot.

Yeah, I fully expected Paskievitch to speak up. But alas, Ken in
Utah gets the first 6-8, and Karl in Washington gets the rest (unless
someone in Alaska makes a deal with him). The antennas are gone!

Mark, if you have no takers for the L-22's, I bet the Russ and Chris
here in Menlo would take them for portable/temporary installs. If
someone else has a more immediate need, though, they should go
there. Sounds like you have plenty of takers for the L4's
already. I think Tom Yelin was thinking about buying a couple new
ones--that would be a shame.

Dave
